Acrylic Printmaking with a Gelli Plate: Workshop on March 17

Sharon-teaching-Free-Basic-Gelli-Printing-300x284

I am offering another Gelli Printing workshop. This one will be acrylic and held at the Trinity Arts Guild in Bedford.

Acrylic Printmaking with a Gelli Plate

Thursday, March 17th 10 am – 3 pm (with an hour break for lunch)

Instructor: Sharon Giles

Put the fun back into your art! Learn how to do acrylic monoprints by using a Gelli Plate.  No press needed! If you’re perfectionistic or have a fear of making a wrong mark or ruining a piece of art paper, learning gelli printing will definitely remove it. You will make lots of art, and it will be messy, but fun.

Supplies needed: Acrylic paint and medium, paper, water container, spray bottle, paper towels and other tools such as stencils, masks, stamps, and mark-making tools, such as a brush, scraper, etc. If you have a gelli plate and brayer, please bring those. Please let the instructor know if you need to borrow one.  Bring an apron or wear grunge clothes.

The acrylic can be any type or consistency of acrylic, including craft brands. The paper doesn’t need to be expensive: cheap watercolor paper, mixed media paper, drawing paper, bristol, copy paper, deli paper and even canvas paper. The instructor will bring extra paper, paints, stencils, stamps and other tools for you to experiment with.
